The paper describes and demystifies the interconnected ESG ecosystem, offers practical insights for the various stages of the investment process through a GP lens. Prior to joining SASB, Mr. Cohen was Head of Business Development at Sonen Capital, an ESG & Impact dedicated OCIO and fund manager. Mr. Cohen has spent his career working with sophisticated investors at organizations such as Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, and Gerson Lehrman Group.

As co-leader of Orrick’s global Business & Human Rights practice and a Sustainability advisor, Betsy helps clients navigate the legal, business, and reputational risks of their biggest human rights and ESG challenges. With strong ties to the human rights and sustainability communities, and expertise in international human rights law, ESG, responsible/ethical tech and innovation, the SDGs, and CSR, Betsy works with clients to develop an approach that considers peer benchmarking but is tailored to their individual needs. She has a particular passion for tackling human rights issues raised by emerging technologies and serves as co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Responsible Use of Technology Learning & Education Initiative.
